Based in Loughborough, our manufacturing facility handles everything in-house — from raw material processing to welding, fabrication, painting, and full assembly of bespoke acoustic units. Mechanical Fitter
We currently have vacancies for a proactive and qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our team.
Role:
- Support mechanical assembly and installation activities in line with company standards.
- Work as part of a team to fit, assemble, and install mechanical components and systems.
- Follow engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Maintain quality and safety across all tasks and interactions.
Responsibilities
- Work to Wilmott Group procedures and systems, adhering to ISO9001, ISO45001, and ISO14001 standards.
- Follow all organisational policies and procedures at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed.
- Co-operate and communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
- Comply with all Health & Safety guidelines.
- Wear the correct PPE at all times on site.
- Use Cranes, Scissor Lifts, and Forklifts safely and appropriately.
- Mechanically fit components and assemblies in line with technical drawings.
- Ensure use of correct fixings, tools, and methods to meet quality standards.
- Produce high-quality workmanship with attention to detail.
- Provide progress updates and report issues to the Team Leader.
- Ensure compliance with production schedules and safety management systems.
- Remain flexible and adaptable – duties may evolve over time.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar mechanical role.
- Strong understanding of health and safety protocols and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
- Skilled in the use of power tools and lifting equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
- Flexibility to work to deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
