Logistics Manager

Wiltech Acoustics LTD

Job Description:

Wiltech Acoustics — now proudly part of Rehlko (formerly Kohler Energy) — is entering an exciting phase of growth and investment. Now integrated into Rehlko’s global energy-resilience group, Wiltech continues to build on its reputation as a leading UK specialist in acoustic canopies, generator enclosures, and industrial noise-control engineering.

Based in Loughborough, our manufacturing facility handles everything in-house — from raw material processing to welding, fabrication, painting, and full assembly of bespoke acoustic units. Joining Wiltech now means becoming part of a strengthened, well-funded and expanding organisation, with new opportunities created through the Rehlko transition.

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Logistics Manager

Responsibilities

  • Be fundamentally responsible for all transport in and out of the Wiltech site, covering the movement of materials for production and the collection of units (finished goods).
  • Manage and oversee all contracts and relationships with carriers, ensuring transport services are reliable, cost-effective, and meet all required delivery schedules.
  • Just-in-Time (JIT) Material Flow:
  • Ensure that materials are delivered Just-in-Time (JIT) to support production schedules, minimising holding costs and maximising efficiency on the shop floor.
  • Manage the loads of materials planned for production, overseeing the scheduling and sequencing of inbound deliveries to align precisely with manufacturing demand.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Interaction:
  • Interact with senior management regularly, providing clear updates on logistics performance, capacity risks, and strategic initiatives to ensure transport operations support overall business objectives.
  • Collaborate extensively across the site, working in collaboration with Planning, Project Stores, and Shop Floor teams to harmonise transport scheduling with production plans and inventory requirements.
  • Yard Management:
  • Manage the Yard team, overseeing all activities related to material handling, vehicle movement, and ensuring yard operations are safe, organised, and efficient.
  • Compliance & Continuous Improvement:
  • Maintain meticulous records and ensure full compliance with all transport regulations and company safety standards for all logistics activities.

Key skills and Experience:

  • Experience: Proven, hands-on experience (5+ years preferred) managing inbound and outbound transport logistics, particularly within a JIT or high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior management and foster strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders (Planning, Stores, Shop Floor).
  • Operational Expertise: Deep understanding of load planning, route optimisation, and scheduling to support rapid-turnaround manufacturing operations.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage operational teams, specifically the Yard team, driving performance and adhering to strict safety standards.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary (DOE)
  • 36 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Pension scheme
  • Employee assistance program
  • A friendly and supportive working environment
  • Opportunity to work with a growing, innovative company in a thriving sector
